2017 Already Off to a Hard Start

2917 is off to a very hard start.  I buried my oldest sister yesterday.  It was unexpected.  She had some health issues but contracted the MRSA virus and her body was just not able to fight it off.  Her birthday was Christmas Day; she was 74...

I lost my youngest sister a year and a half ago so now I am the only one left.  It seems so strange that I will not have anyone to discuss our growing up years with or that will get the inside jokes our family shared.  The three of us were separated by ten years so it was always interesting to see how one of the others interrupted a particular incident.  We grew up back in the days where we slept together.  I remember that my older sister and I shared a bed for years and I was so disappointed when she got her own room and I inherited my younger sister.  My older sister was an accomplished pianist and I loved listening to her play.  She was a girly girl and we both inherited my aunts's love of shoes.  She will be sorely missed.

I have several projects that I was excited about starting in the new year but they are going to have to wait, for a little while anyway....I am really going to miss my big sister.....

This little flower represents how I feel.....peeking out trying to find light among all the junk.....

Slower Pace

After a blessed family Christmas, Sweet fisherman and I decided we would chill today.....It seems like a good idea to enjoy some time on the sofa with a comfy throw....

A cup of tea and a good book seemed in order....

And a grilled cheese sandwich would just fit the bill.....

Indie even picked up on the change in pace...

Back to the grind tomorrow and get the house back in order....Are you having any time to relax?  We all need a 'breather day' after a busy time.....

Grand kids and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus

Our oldest grandchild is twelve.  That means we've had twelve years of his pictures with Santa.  I hope it continues but I am sure as he enters his teenage years that we will have less of these special Christmas pictures...I thought it only appropriate to share the picture from this year...

Merry Christmas and may your time be filled with joy, peace, and love....

Hugs and blessings,

Nanci

Christmas Joy

Christmas means so many different things to different people.  For me, Christmas is about the birth of Jesus, my Savior....Celebrating this gift is my focal point.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Christmas trees are beautiful works of art rather they are simple or elaborate and brings smiles to kids and quiet moments of reflection to adults...

Christmas trees hold memories from the past and treasured ornaments from loved ones and friends.

Kids on Christmas morning....so excited....so much anticipation.....so much hope

“I heard the bells on Christmas Day; their old familiar carols play, and wild and sweet the word repeat of peace on earth, good-will to men!”

And we can't leave out the dogs in our lives that bring so much joy....I have two grand dogs and they love their Christmas toys...

So whatever way you choose to celebrate this season, I hope it will be filled with peace, love, joy, laughter, hope and some time to reflect on this past year and excitement for the new year.

Your friendship means so much to me and I appreciate your visits this past year.  I look forward to hearing about your plans for the new year and to offer support and encouragement when needed....

Hugs and blessings,

Nanci
