Basket of Odds and Ends

Thank you so much for your comments of well wishes for my Sweet Fisherman.  Today is the first day that he has felt better at all so I hope he is on his way to recovery....He actually wanted us to go pick up shrimp from our "local" establishment so I knew he was feeling better.

We go home in a couple of days so our time on the shore will soon be coming to an end.  I have enjoyed being here for a couple of weeks but it hasn't been what we had planned with him getting sick the day we arrived.  But thank goodness I have had lots of time to walk on the beach, knit, read, and weave between taking care of the hubs....

I am having a partial knee replacement the first week in Oct so I was happy to get outside when I could.  Sometimes I can walk fine, other times I can hardly walk at all.  Thank goodness I like to do things where I can sit even though that has not been good for the rear if you know what I mean......

I know you wouldn't think these flats would be good to walk in but actually they are one of two paris of shoes that I can walk in.....Don't ask me why.....I just know I have been so thankful that I could use my feel to walk sometimes....Looking forward to getting a new knee and being able to do all the things I haven't been able to for a while....

I did manage to walk down to the village and out on the pier yesterday....

This is the bridge that goes over the inland waterway going over to Jekyll Island.....

This little fellow let me get very close....I was surprised unless he thought I had food...The St. Simons Island Lighthouse is in the background....

Late afternoon walk on the beach.....Not many people around.....the summer crowd is gone...

Ah, the smell of salt and sand. There is no elixir on this blessed earth like it
