Celebrating a Special Birthday

We've been taking care of grand kids this week while our daughter is out of town.  School age kid's routine comes back slowly and one forgets all the little details that have to be followed in order to keep things running smoothly such as homework, snacks, packing lunches and the very important homework.  Then of course you have the scheduled activities and meals.  Whew, we are tried when we finally hand them off to their dad.  But what fun we have had this week.  Their mom doesn't come home until Monday night so we are about half way through our adventure.

Their personalities, as all kids, are so very different and we love seeing their talents and loves develop.  We've played basketball, board games, 'hotel' (that's a fun one), dolls, well the list goes on but what fun....and of course many pictures have been taken.

Yesterday, was a special day...Our grand daughter turned nine.  I can't believe it as it seems it was only a couple of years ago that she was born.  For a special treat, we took her to the American Girl store in Charlotte which is about three hours away.  Memories, Memories, so much fun....

Having lunch at the Bistro with all five of her dolls....

Not a great shot, but I loved the look on Papa's face.  He was such a good sport throughout the American Girl trip.....Grand kids are such a blessing.  We were so thankful that we had the opportunity to celebrate her birthday doing something that brought so many smiles to her face.....

Hugs and blessings, Nanci
